57 days and a Million things to do

So we're down to 57 days left here. I have a million things to do with work and the house and our trips! Kind of overwhelming. If I would just sit down and make a list that would make things move smoother! I've never been too organized when it comes to PCS'ing, but now that Jaz is here I should try my best at it!! If I'm smart, I'll try to start separating our UAB and HHE stuff from now til we go on vacation. Once we get back we won't have much time and I'll still be working. I just want to be settled in one place for the next 3 years! From the time we left from the states in April 2008 to April 2011, we have moved 3 times! That's once a year! I can't wait to have some stability now that Jaz has joined us. Now I don't mind moving every three years, but three times in three years is insane!

I want our furniture, paint our house, give Jaz her own room and playroom, have a garage, our hot tub, our furbabies........OUR place!!!! I have enjoyed the opportunity given to me and it also gave us a chance to expand our family and have Bri be involved with it! He was here for her birth (which I would venture to say is almost rare in the military) and will be here for the first two years of her life. Not many have had that opportunity, but one for which we are so thankful for!

Jumping to a different topic: Brian will finish his Bachelors on February 7, 2011!!!! We couldn't be more proud or happy for him. We'll be attending his graduation in July with family in AZ. Crazy guy is going to start his Master's program in May. So it's going to be funny when he's doing his homework during graduation. But the main goal is to have his Master's before retiring. Which should be an easy task for him. Coming no this program has given him the chance to finish his Bachelor's this soon. We weren't sure what we were going to do after retirement, but now we do! Just gotta get there.

It's weird to think that my husband will be retiring in just a little over 6 years. Jaz will only be 7 years old when he retires, so that gives us a chance to get her in school and stay put. I think it would be great if she could graduate with kids she went to elementary school with. Anyways, this post has no real significance, so I'm going to go now.

Cheers!

  1. So exciting : ) It sounds like you are going through lots of awesome changes : ) A house is very fun! I was surprised about how much work it was when we first moved! I hope it works out wonderfully for you and your sweet baby : ) Love that early retirement idea.

Visiting via your comment at Enjoying the Small Things. So nice to meet you. Love, Becky

  2. Justin and I have moved every two years, in the same state, but we have bought 2 houses (and sold 1 obviously) in that time. It's insane. I, too, am hoping to stay put for a while. You will love having your own home.
